Ibiza is a wonderful holiday destination. It is the capital of the Balearic Islands and has a reputation as somewhat of a party island thanks to its many nightclubs and musical attractions, however, Ibiza holidays can be great for all of the family and people of all ages, not just 20 something revellers looking for a good time – although they are well catered for too.
Ibiza
Ibiza is actually a town with a rich history behind it. It is actually one of the oldest towns in Europe and much of its long history still remains visible for all to see today. This makes it an interesting place to visit for those who are interested in history or culture but even those who are not will get a lot of enjoyment out of the old buildings which give the town character.
The town has a great selection of hotels and apartments which are ideal for family lovers. There are plenty of options to choose from location wise too, so whether you prefer to be close to the beach or in the middle of town, you can always find a great place to stay when on Ibiza holidays.
Beaches
There are more than 50 beaches in Ibiza and many are within easy walking distance of the town centre. Playa d-en Bossa is the longest beach in Ibiza and is home to one of the most notorious after hours clubs in Ibiza, ‘Space’ where a good time is guaranteed.
However, if you are not the party type, there are plenty of more sedate beaches where you can relax with a good book and not be disturbed.
Food
When you think of Ibiza holidays, food may not be the first thing that springs to mind but Ibiza actually has a lot going on for foodies who love to sample the delicacies from other cultures.
Fish and seafood is the main staple in Ibiza and there are many excellent cafes and restaurants serving up fresh seafood to die for. Other local dishes of note include Sopa del Menuts which is an offal soup and partridge with cabbage, but if local food isn’t your style, you can find cuisines from all over the world in the many local eateries too.
