It is now the law for cargo to be freight screened before departure

A certified Freight screening implementation was issued by the transportation security administration to comply with the legalisation signed onto the law in 2007. After the disaster of terrorist attacks on 9/11 the law required the homeland security to set up a system that would screen 100 percent of passing cargo or freight onto passenger aircrafts. This included passenger’s baggage, the passengers themselves and also hand luggage. The law gave the homeland security three years for this to be implemented and receive a 100 percent positive freight screening.

Within the three year time limit, the transportation security administration has come up with ways to provide airport security resources such as freight screening facilities. With such facilities airports can scan cargo and freight before it is shipped.

Anybody can become a certified cargo screening facility where cargo is to go directly onto transportation for example anyone who is involved with manufacturing, distribution centres, warehouses, airport freight handlers and logistics can all become part of the freight screening facility.

With using such freight screening security, it has no been proven that all cargo in which is travelling through transportation is now screened to an extremely high level of security using fantastic devices such as x ray conveyor checks in which can highlight any dangerous materials like sharp instruments, aerosols and explosives or anything in which can harm anyone or anything.

Bringing in this freight screening process has saved money and time in luggage and cargo checks through such high technology machines, there are no more searching through luggage and parcels for anything dangerous in which could harm staff whilst doing so, instead now freight screening machinery can pick such dangerous things up without anyone having to touch or harm themselves only needing to be searched if absolutely necessary and safe. Also using freight screening will ensure that cargo will only need to be screened once, not like it used to be where they were inspected prior to travel and then again at arrival.

So if you have anything in which need to be transported especially on aircraft it is now the law that it goes through the freight screening process prior to delivery.
