Hydraulics is an internationally recognised and accepted principle which works on the theory that by pushing a compressed liquid which cannot escape and has no bubbles or trapped air from one point of an engine to another it will transmit the energy and/or motion which is required to perform a specific task.
The vessel required to create the flow is known as a Hydraulic Pump and works by transferring mechanical energy into hydraulic energy by forcing it away from the “prime mover” which is normally an engine or motor. This energy is then fed into an actuator where it is converted back into the energy required to perform the required task. The more common named for an actuator is a Hydraulic Pump.
Pumps operate on the theory of displacement which is where fluid is taken from one area or specific location and displaced to another. There are two types of pump- positive and non-positive and these are selected in accordance with the specific task at hand and the requirements. A positive pump works with a pulsing flow, is not affected by the internal pressure and have the ability to self-prime whilst a non-positive pump has a smooth flow, can be affected by pressure and have no vacuum which means that they do not have the capacity to self-prime.
What Makes Kawasaki different
Kawasaki and their industrial trading name Kawasaki Precision Machinery are marketed as being at the forefront of industrial technology. Most commonly for the novice in the field Kawasaki are known for producing motorbikes and whilst this is very much true they offer a full package of industrial, construction, marine and mining equipment to the highest of standards. These products are distributed worldwide and Kawasaki is publically committed to scientific study into advancing methods in hydraulics and electro-hydraulics.
Kawasaki and the Public
Kawasaki as a multinational company takes its corporate responsibilities very seriously; its Public Relations arm sponsors expeditions and benevolent events and is heavily involved in environmental protection; in fact its commitment to the environment is part of the current manifesto.
