Lindberg glasses are some of the most unusual designer glasses. They are made by a Scandinavian firm, so they have a unique minimalist look. This is a look that appeals to people from many walks of life and many ages. These glasses do not define your look in the same way some other designer glasses. They have a classic, understated elegance, which allows everyone to wear them regardless of their personal taste.
A Brief History Lindberg Glasses
Established in 1969 in Arhus, Denmark Lindberg Glasses has a long history. Paul Jorn Lindberg started out by commissioning his own glasses collection from international manufacturers. In 1983, he came up with AIR titanium frame with the architect Hans Dissing. Dissing was a Danish architect from the design studio D + W. He played a key role in the design of the Great Belt Bridge, which is included in the Cultural Canon.
In 1984, the name Lindberg Optic Design is registered and Henrik Lindberg is employed. In 1986, the firm’s first frameless glasses were first sold and the Danish royal family were early adopters.
The Lindberg brand went global in 1992. In 1993, the Air titanium frame was voted as one of the top 20 designs of the 20th century. In 1995, the firm launched its first sunglasses with very thin rims. These very thin lightweight frames were very popular. In 1999, they introduced 18ct gold rims. By 2009, they were granted royal warrant of appointment by the Danish court.
Over the years, they have been awarded numerous times. They have received 41 design and innovation awards since 1989.
Lindberg Glasses Are Light as well as Stylish
They can be customised to suit each wearer. Lindberg glasses are some of the lightest available, which is part of the reason they are so unobtrusive. They weigh as little as 1.9 grams. However, they are some of the strongest glasses you can buy. They are flexible, but are built not to break or snap when flexed. The fact that they are made from titanium is what gives them their durability and good looks.
