Some workplaces and certain industries are far more dangerous than others and in turn far more likely to need a great deal of in-depth first aid knowledge by certain people on site. However, even the most relaxed of working environments are not safe from the ever-present threat of incidents and accidents.
There are many things that could lead to CPR being needed, from choking to serious accidents right through to certain health conditions a worker may have been living with.
Heart attacks, for example, can happen to people of any age and everything from diet to stress can bring a heart attack on. This means that any workplace could find itself in a situation where CPR training is needed and should no one have undertaken the relevant CPR training courses, a life could needlessly be lost.
In the UK alone, hundreds of thousands of people die every year simply due to the fact that first aid was not administered and nothing is more tragic than a life needlessly lost. Whilst calling for the emergency services can help in certain situations, in the event of a heart attack the first response needs to be swift and ensuring someone in your business has had CPR training can save lives.
There is another way to look at this, CPR training courses are not costly at all, whilst the cost to a business of having a member of staff or even a customer dying needlessly on their premises can be great. On the flip side, the positive publicity of being a company that is prepared to save lives themselves is something that will only boost a businesss fortunes.
Ultimately, CPR could be needed at any time and in any place, even in the most serene of working conditions. In such a situation, having a fast response is integral and by being prepared, you could save lives rather than see them tragically wasted.
